chmod4 makes sharing the code that you're working on with remote collaborators as easy as running a command in your editor. We currently support Emacs, Sublime Text, and VS Code. Collaborators only need a browser.
@theblackuchiha It's actually remarkably simple. Effectively it's just a websocket connection between the editor, our server, and whoever is viewing the code. The editor then streams updates to whatever it is working on over that websocket.
Noah and I started working on this after taking a remote operating systems class. Showing our teammates the code we were working over Zoom's screen sharing was hard because it required a good internet, screens needed to be the same size, and we couldn't copy paste or interact with the files being shared.
chmod4 solves those problems all while allowing you to stay inside your editor of choice. It's designed to be as low friction to use possible and it is free while we hope to collect your feedback :)
We're excited to hear what you think and how this is useful to you.
