What does your Mac actually sound like all day?

I've been thinking about this a lot while building my app. Most of us have 10+ apps that ping us, Slack, Teams, Mail, Calendar, Discord, and they all basically sound the same, so we've trained ourselves to check every single one.

I got obsessed with the idea that your Mac should sound like your actual life: a specific sound for your boss, a cha-ching when a sale lands, something soft for a friend, silence for the noise. So I built Chirpy to do exactly that (just launched 3.0, it now works with any app in Notification Center, not just Slack/Teams).

Curious how other people handle this:

• do you turn most notification sounds off entirely, or keep them on?

• if you could give one app or person its own distinct sound, what would it be?

genuinely interested, half research, half fun. (I'm the maker, so obviously biased, but this is the rabbit hole I fell down.)
