Which part of how a computer works still feels like magic to you?

by•

We launch Chip Builder on Product Hunt on November 2. It is a puzzle game where you start with one logic gate and finish with a working CPU that you wired yourself.

While we built it, we kept asking one question: which step makes people say "oh, so that's how it works"? Maybe it is the adder, the first flip-flop that remembers a bit, or the moment a CPU runs its first program.

We would love to hear from you:

1. Which part of a computer still feels like magic to you?

2. Did you ever learn digital logic, at school or on your own? What helped, and what didn't?

We read every answer. They help us decide what the game should explain better.
