We hid our stack until we realized how costly it is to copy.
by•
We kept the exact Causo stack private because we thought it was part of the moat.
Then we realized that knowing the tools is the easy part. Orchestrating them, verifying every result, building fallbacks and running the whole thing at scale is what actually takes the time and money.
So we’re making it public.
This is how Causo searches, enriches, verifies and writes outreach using live data instead of stale databases.

The thing that makes a stack safe to publish is that the hard part was never the stack. Anyone can read your tool list in a minute and still not have the year of decisions about what you tried and dropped, which is the actual asset and the one thing a blog post cannot transfer. Copying the stack gets you the same tools pointed at a problem you do not understand yet. Where I would still be careful is anything that reveals a customer or a live security surface, because that has nothing to do with competitive advantage and gets you a different kind of trouble. Otherwise publishing it mostly buys you people who want to talk about the choices, which is how you find out which ones were wrong.

100% agree, and we also had quiet a few potential customers ask - and we have given the answer. So feels like the cat is out of the bag already anyway
@ivan_sem "The cat is out of the bag anyway" is the right read, and there is a second thing hiding in it. If potential customers are asking what you built it with, they are telling you they are evaluating you as a build-vs-buy decision, not as a purchase. That is worth knowing early, because it changes what the page has to do. It has to make building it yourself look tedious rather than impossible. Since you build for early-stage founders, the adjacent thing you would see constantly: people who can now build anything and have no idea which thing anyone would pay for. Stack transparency has stopped being the moat and choosing correctly has become it. I build something in that space now, https://blunlock.com , so discount me accordingly. What are your users actually stuck on, the fundraising mechanics or deciding what to build in the first place?
