Capter - Screenshot to to-do app for Mac & Windows

by
Capter is a screenshot-to-todo app for Mac & Windows. Press a hotkey, drag a box around any task that lives in chats, email, or tickets, and Capter writes the task, sets a deadline from the text, and reminds you before it's due. Different from typing-first todo apps: you screenshot it, the AI does the rest. The desktop app idles in your tray until you need it. Free during early access. Windows live on the Microsoft Store, Mac coming soon.

Hey Product Hunt! Founder of Capter here. I built Capter because I kept losing tasks buried in Slack, email, and ticket threads. Every existing to-do app assumes you have the time and willpower to switch tabs, type the task, pick a project, set a date, and save — every single time. You don't. Nobody does. So the task never gets logged, and on Friday someone asks whatever happened to that thing. The muscle memory was already there: screenshot the thing. Send it to yourself. Promise to come back. So I built the missing piece — the bit that turns the screenshot into the actual task with a deadline and a reminder. Press a hotkey on Mac or Windows, drag a box around any to-do on screen (Slack message, email, calendar invite, anything), and Capter writes the task, picks up the deadline if one was mentioned, and pings you before it's due. No typing. Windows app is live on the Microsoft Store today, Mac is coming soon, web app works everywhere. Free during early access. Happy to answer questions about the OCR/LLM stack, why screenshot-first beats typing-first for the kind of tasks that live in chats, or anything else.
