Building a calorie tracker: what would make you actually use one every day?

I m relaunching my calorie tracking app next week after rebuilding a big part of it.

Before I launch, I want to ask the people who actually use these products:

What would make you choose one calorie tracker and stick with it for 6+ months?

Curious about what matters most: speed, accuracy, simplicity, personalization, motivation, something else?

What’s the #1 reason you stop using calorie tracking apps?

I ve tried several calorie tracking apps, and for me the biggest problem was never knowing what to eat, it was logging everything.

Searching for foods, checking portions, scanning barcodes, filling out forms eventually it starts feeling like a second job.

I m curious what everyone else thinks:

What s the one thing that makes you stop using a calorie tracking app?

CalNote - The Apple Notes of food tracking.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Ogan, relaunching CalNote after major changes since our first launch in February. Calorie tracking is a chore, so we fixed it. CalNote is the “Apple Notes” of diet apps: type what you ate or snap a photo, and AI calculates calories & macros in seconds. No barcodes, databases, or rigid forms. New: meal-time splitting, AI meal suggestions, menu scanning, weight progress tracking, better tracking reminders, coach connections, and 8+ languages.

CalNote - The Apple Notes of food tracking.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Ogan, relaunching CalNote today after a lot of changes since our first launch back in February. New since our last launch: meal-time splitting, AI meal suggestions, menu scanning, coach connections, and 8 languages. Built for people who quit other trackers because logging felt like a second job.
