Building a changelog tool with minimal GitHub permissions — what do you think?

Hey! Launching Buoylog on Product Hunt Sept 3rd, but wanted to start a conversation here first.

The core idea: most changelog tools either need broad OAuth access to your GitHub repos (the repo scope, which technically grants write access even if they only read PR titles) or charge per AI credit for categorization. Buoylog is a GitHub App scoped to read-only access on PRs and metadata, and every plan includes unlimited AI categorization. No credit meter.

Merge a PR → Claude drafts a plain-English release note → you review → it publishes to a hosted page, an embeddable widget, and email/Slack/Discord.

• Does the minimal-permissions angle actually matter to you when picking a tool, or is it a non-issue in practice?
