BoxBip — a privacy-first social network built for discovery Hey Product Hunt, I'm the solo maker behind BoxBip, a privacy-first social network I designed, built, and run myself. It launched in April 2026, and it's my answer to a simple question: what would social media look like if it were built for discovery and conversation instead of engagement extraction? Discovery is the front door. BoxBip gives you several distinct ways to find things worth your attention: - The Advantage — a newspaper open to all, covering what's happening on and around the platform. - The Serendipity Feed — built to surface things outside your usual bubble. - The News Feed — the latest blog posts from across the community, fresh in one place. A full social toolkit. Once something catches your eye, BoxBip has the apps to act on it: - Blog — write long-form posts with a dashboard for full management of everything you've published. - Profile — follow and friend other members, upload media, like and comment, and tune exactly who sees what with multilayered privacy settings. - Chat — one-to-one private conversations. - Groups — community discussions around shared interests. The Perspective Engine. Any post can gather short contributions tagged by viewpoint — Legal, Economic, Technical, Ethical, Data Privacy, and more — so a story becomes a set of angles, not a single take. It's the feature I'm most proud of, and the one I most want feedback on. Moderation with due process. An AI-powered moderation system keeps things civil, with abuse reporting and a real appeal process — if your content is flagged, you see what was blocked and can appeal. Privacy is the foundation.
