How we built the BEST PDF compressor that shows you the result.
At 4 a.m. the night before my final university thesis, I had a 47 MB PDF. It needed to be under 10 MB. Every online compressor either ruined the quality, added watermarks or made me pay before showing the result. I was pissed.
So I vibe-coded bitepdf.com that same weekend.
Full-stack: Next.js 15 + TypeScript + Tailwind frontend.
I used Codex as my full-time coding harness. Core engine was built in <48 hours.
The big idea: you always see the compressed PDF before paying. Drop the file → instant preview → only pay if you love it. No surprises.
Three insights from building BitePDF:
Users hate uncertainty more than they hate paying.
In 2026, AI isn’t replacing solo founders - it’s letting us ship 10x faster. Codex did 90% of the work.
That “last-minute huge PDF panic” is universal. Students, freelancers, lawyers - we all live it.
