Bhava - Dating, Matrimony, Kundali-matched before you meet

by•
Bhava is a matrimony app with Vedic Kundali matching. Every evening at 7 you get a small Drop of people picked for you, each already scored out of 36, and your family can help on your terms.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Himanshu, and I make Bhava. Every young Indian I know has had the same conversation with their mum. Nice profile, lovely photos, the chats are going well, and then: "But did you match kundalis?" Most apps leave that question until the very end, after weeks of hope. Bhava asks it first. When you join, we work out your Kundali from your date, time and place of birth, and everyone you're introduced to has already been scored against it on the 36-point Ashtakoota system, the same check our families have used for generations. The score is explained in plain words, and if there's a dosha, we tell you, because honesty matters more than a nice number. I didn't start out as an astrologer. I started as a programmer, then found fitness, and after a run of relationships that fell apart I taught myself astrology to understand why. What I found was beautiful: a way of understanding two people, their temperaments, their minds and their families, that our ancestors refined over generations. No chart promises forever. Two people still have to show up for each other every day. But I came to believe the paths our ancestors walked still have a lot to teach us, and that tradition shouldn't be left behind just because we meet differently now. Bhava 2.0 is a from-scratch redesign of the app I launched earlier this year. Three things changed. First, the endless feed is gone. Every evening at 7 you get a small Drop of people picked for you, and when you've looked at each one properly, it ends until tomorrow. Second, every check in the score now has a plain-language explanation, with Nadi, Bhakoot and Manglik doshas always flagged. Third, parents get their own view: their own login, your matches and scores, "Check a rishta" for a proposal that arrived on WhatsApp, and private notes only you can read. They can never message anyone or see your chats, and you can remove them any time. We also added phone verification, an optional selfie check reviewed by a real person, a number guard in chats and a Face ID lock. It's for anyone who feels torn between how their parents found each other and how their friends meet now. You don't have to choose. Bhava is free on iPhone, with an optional Bhava Plus. Android isn't here yet and I won't promise a date; you can leave your email at bhavapp.com to hear when it is. I'd genuinely like your feedback, especially from people who have been through the family-introductions route: what would make you trust a score, what would make your parents comfortable, and what's missing. I'll be here all day answering. Himanshu
