Universal TV remote for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac

Hey Product Hunt,

I’m launching TV Remote, a universal smart TV remote that turns your iPhone into the remote you actually want to use.

The idea is simple: physical remotes get lost, run out of batteries, and are terrible for typing. TV Remote lets you control Apple TV, Samsung, LG, Android TV/Google TV, Fire TV, Roku, Hisense, and Vizio from one clean app.

It includes remote controls, app launching, text input, touchpad support where available, Home Screen widgets, Apple Watch controls, and Siri Shortcuts.

I built it because I wanted a remote that feels native to Apple devices and adapts to the TV instead of showing a giant grid of buttons that may or may not work.

I’d love feedback from the PH community:

  1. What’s the most annoying thing about your current TV remote setup?

  2. Would widgets, Watch controls, or Siri shortcuts actually change how you use a remote?

  3. What should a “modern remote” do that physical remotes still don’t?

Happy to answer anything about the app, supported TVs, setup, or the launch.
