Battle Trails - Find and share battlefield and military history routes
by•
Battle Trails is a community for discovering and sharing routes through battlefields, trenches, bunkers and other places where history left its mark on the terrain. Each route is told by someone who actually walked it, with stops, photos and personal accounts of the visit. It began as a Master's final project, built around a niche almost nobody covers online: battlefield and memory tourism. Our goal is to make these places as easy to find as any tourist spot, while keeping the history rigorous.

I'm the author. Battle Trails is a place to find and share routes through battlefields, trenches, bunkers and other spots where history left marks on the terrain, told by people who actually walked them.
It started as my final project for a Master's in Web Design.
I wanted a niche almost nobody covers online, and battlefield tourism turned out to be one. Spain alone has countless Civil War fortifications that never show up on regular tourist maps, and I wanted them to be as easy to find as a restaurant nearby.
You can browse everything without an account. You only need one to publish or interact. The interface is in Spanish for now, but the routes can be anywhere in the world.
It's an early project, so I'd really like to hear:
- Does the idea make sense to you, or does it feel too niche?
- Is it clear what to do when you land on the site?
- Anything that looks broken or confusing, especially on mobile.
Happy to answer any questions about how it's built.
