I'm Simon, maker of Basteon. Every finance app I tried stored my bank data on their servers or required KYC, so I built one for Europe where everything stays encrypted on your phone.
Connect your bank accounts and brokers from across Europe (ING, Revolut, Wise and more), get spending auto-categorized, add cash and investments, and see your net worth grow month by month. Nobody else, including us, can see your data.
I don't like the rise of financial surveillance, and I do not want to build another app that profits from your data.
The business model is simple: Basteon is subscription based, so you are the customer and not the product. The backend will be open source.

Question: if nothing ever leaves the device, what happens when I lose the phone or switch to a new one? Is there a backup or export somewhere?
@lucasdesign currently users can manually export data in the app. But we will support encrypted backups (to their own drives/our servers) with a key or password generated on-device. And a simple import feature to restore that backup.
