I got burnt by bad surf forecasts one too many times — so I built BarrelCast

I've been surfing most of my life. And I've lost count of how many times I've driven an hour to a break, checked the "good" forecast, and found it completely unsurfable.

The problem wasn't the data it was that no app told me how to surf what was showing up, or gave me a long enough window to plan a proper trip around it.

So I built BarrelCast.

What it does:

- 🗓 21-day forecast window - enough lead time to plan travel around swells

- 🌬 Full swell, wind, period and weather data in one place

- 🏄 Surf coaching context - not just conditions, but how to ride them

- Live El Nino Updates - so you can get ready for that major swell season

I'm a developer and surfer based in Durban, South Africa, and this has been a passion project that's finally ready for the world.
