Baremetrics is really cool...but would be even cooler if we could use other payment gateways like paypal....we use both paypal and stripe. I guess not the only one who has the same issue ;)

If you use Stripe Customer objects, then it should work, yes.
As someone who is literally right this very second hand-writing another failed payment email follow up, I totally get this. Killer feature Josh 👊💪👌

This is literally the best timing. I was about to start working on an in-house dunning system next week, getting a little angry that there wasn't a good off-the-shelf alternative, and here you come with one! Awesome stuff.

Somewhat amusingly we are a Dunnings company for the offline world (e.g. Xero, QBO etc; here is our PH feature from before ) but we can't actually chase our own failed payments! We already use Baremetrics so I think we will switch this on shortly.

Great stuff, Josh! How did you decide to work on this vs more metrics-related stuff?

Arguably this does in fact introduce more metrics-related stuff (namely some retention metrics). That being said, we've got more metrics-related stuff in the works as well. :) Lots of stuff moving in tandem.
I'm blown away by how much better their simple calculator did on Product Hunt than this insanely useful tool. Josh and his team work their asses off. As a customer, I'm amazed to see them constantly improve.

Considering Stripe can already send receipts for failed and refunded payments I'm kind of amazed they still haven't built this in-house, a good gap to fill though...
