Smarter search, safer sending, and a sharper Banger for Mac
Twelve days ago, we shared what we shipped during Banger’s first week after launch.
Since then, we’ve released Mac beta 27 and beta 29. Here’s everything meaningful that changed:
📬 Mailbox setup no longer blocks you
Domain creation, mailbox provisioning, and Gmail connections now continue in the background with clear progress, failure, and retry states. DNS setup can be completed later, and interrupted setups can recover safely.
🍎 A more polished native Mac inbox
We improved timestamps, workflow states, comments, draft-review panels, agent progress, mailbox switching, label controls, and the reading-pane divider. The app now remembers where you left things and stays smoother during resizing and fast mailbox changes.
🔎 Search works more like Gmail
Separate words match anywhere in a message, while quoted text searches for an exact phrase. Mixed searches work too.
🔬 You can inspect the message Banger received
Every email now has a Show Original Message action with copyable sender, recipient, Reply-To, date, subject, threading IDs, and body details.
↩️ Replies honor Reply-To
Banger now preserves and uses the sender’s intended Reply-To address instead of blindly replying to the transport sender.

✅ Sent mail reflects the real delivery outcome
A draft ends when our sending service accepts it. The message then stays in Sent while Banger reconciles the receiving server’s final result.
If delivery fails—or only some recipients accept it—the same sent message is marked accordingly. It doesn’t disappear, return as an editable draft, or offer a retry that could accidentally deliver duplicates.
🛟 Delivery errors are understandable
Instead of showing only something like error code: 502, Banger now explains what happened and what to do next.
Users can see the affected address or domain, expand the technical details, copy a searchable support code, or open a prefilled problem report.
📎 Gmail attachments are more reliable
Attachment downloads no longer depend on which signed-in device is coordinating mailbox history. We also improved lease recovery when the previous primary device is no longer active.
⚙️ And plenty of quiet reliability work
Outgoing messages include the right display name, eligible pre-delivery failures have a safely gated fallback route, stale live-mail connections recover automatically, and app updates replace outdated background services.
