Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Felipe, a software engineer from Chile and the maker of this project. I built this platform because preparing for the IELTS exam can be expensive, repetitive, and difficult to do consistently. I wanted to create a place where students can practice all four IELTS skills with AI-powered feedback, realistic mock tests, and personalized study tools—all in one place. The project is still evolving, and your feedback would mean a lot. If you have a few minutes to try it, I’d love to hear what you like, what you don’t, and what features you’d like to see next. Thanks for checking it out, and feel free to ask me anything! 🚀

How does the speaking section actually work though? Is it with a real human examiner or AI, and how accurate are the band scores compared to the official test?

Great question! The speaking practice is AI-powered, not with a live human examiner. The AI conducts a natural conversation, asks follow-up questions similar to the real IELTS test, and provides detailed feedback on fluency, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and coherence.

As for band scores, they’re designed to closely approximate the official IELTS Speaking criteria, so they’re a reliable way to track your progress and identify areas to improve. That said, no AI can guarantee the exact score you’d receive from an official human examiner, so the estimates should be viewed as a strong indicator rather than a final official band.

How does the detailed feedback actually work for the Speaking section, since it’s hard to imagine AI grading pronunciation and fluency accurately?

Great question! The AI evaluates your pronunciation, fluency, grammar, vocabulary, and coherence based on the official IELTS Speaking criteria. Instead of just giving you a band score, it explains why you received it and highlights specific areas to improve. While it’s not a human examiner, it’s designed to provide consistent, practical feedback to help you prepare effectively.
