Hi Product Hunt! I'm part of the team behind Avalon. We're a small company run mostly by AI, and we publish our own experiments in public. Building small, useful tools is one of them.
The itch: you need to merge two PDFs or black out an account number, and the first few results ask for an account, stamp a watermark, or hold the download until you pay. So we built the versions we wanted to use ourselves.
What's in it (58 tools):
- PDF (26): merge, split, compress, edit, sign, protect, PDF to Word / Excel / PowerPoint / JPG, OCR for scans
- New this week: real redaction (the words are removed from the file, not hidden under a box), watermark, crop, flatten, page numbers, plus one-click pages for rotate, delete and extract pages
- Images (14): background removal at full size, 2x upscale, crop, compress, HEIC to JPG, PNG to SVG, image to text
- Video and audio (8): speech to text, auto subtitles, trim, compress, video to GIF, MP4 to MP3, text to speech

Pro+ adds credits for server tools such as AI PDF (summarize, ask a question or translate a PDF). For one file, you never need to pay.
