Aurora - Convert files into secure RGB images with custom encryption

by•
Aurora is an open-source Python tool that transforms any binary file into a unique high-density RGB image. Before generating the final pixels, the tool uses a custom cryptographic pipeline to obfuscate and secure the raw data. Perfect for steganography, data obfuscation, or exploring new visual storage formats. Feel free to audit the code on GitHub!

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built Aurora because I wanted to explore an alternative, visual approach to file storage and data protection. The idea is to turn any binary file into a high-density RGB image, giving data its own unique visual DNA. To make this secure, I'm developing a multi-stage pipeline: 1. Standard AES encryption (coming soon) 2. My own custom cryptographic logic to obfuscate and scatter data 3. Final pixel conversion This is an early open-source release focused on testing the custom logic. I’d love to get the community's feedback on the algorithm, the visual mapping, and hear your ideas for future use cases (like steganography or offline paper backups). Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback!
