What has kept you from using live wallpapers on your Mac?

I am a solo dev launching a native Mac live wallpaper app on July 28, and I

built it around the two things that kept me from ever using one myself:

battery anxiety and distraction.

So it renders real-time generative art on the GPU, but stops rendering

entirely, measured 0.0% CPU, the moment a window covers the desktop. And it frosts your screen when you step away, so it earns its keep even when you are not looking at it.

What I want to know from this community: what stopped you? Battery? Felt gimmicky? Distracting during work? Could not find art worth keeping? I have 17 days left to fix things before launch, so blunt answers are the useful kind.
