๐ Hey Product Hunt!
We're the team behind AssetLoom, and we're excited (and a little nervous) to finally share this with you today! ๐
๐ด Why we built this: IT teams we talked to were juggling asset info across spreadsheets, ticketing tools, messaging without being documented. Nobody had a single source of truth for what hardware/software existed, who had it, its status, or when it needed attention. Tasks like equipment onboarding or return, software renewals, or retiring old equipment are usually done by hand and when it comes to hundred or thousand of equipments to keep up with, tracking them all on spreadsheets is really time-consuming.
๐ข What AssetLoom does: It is a single platform for managing IT assets. You can track your full inventory from hardware to accessories, software, consumables, automate steps in the asset lifecycle such as setup, transfers, and retirement, and see clear information about cost, compliance, and how assets are being used, without needing several separate tools.
A few questions for you: ๐
๐If you manage IT assets today, what part of that process is the most difficult for you?
๐We are building a sync that pulls Jamf and Intune data into AssetLoom, estimated to release by October. What would make this more useful for the tools you already use?
๐Is anything confusing or missing as you look through the product?
We will be checking this comment section throughout the day and will answer any questions you have. Thank you for taking the time to look at AssetLoom. ๐

We still rely on spreadsheets to track laptops and accessories. Adding new assets is easy, but keeping assignments and statuses accurate when employees change teams or leave is much harder. How does AssetLoom handle this?

@jennifer147ย Thatโs exactly where spreadsheets usually become difficult to maintain. In AssetLoom, we record every asset assignment and status change, giving your team a clear history of where each device has been and who was responsible for it. When employees change teams, transfer equipment, or leave the company, the asset record stays up to date, making it much easier to manage each item throughout its full lifecycle.

How does AssetLoom work for companies with several departments? We need for our local IT teams to manage their own inventories while our management still needs a company view.

@peter_tran18ย Yes, thatโs a common challenge for companies with multiple teams or offices. In AssetLoom, you can organize assets by department and location, so local IT teams can quickly see what they manage, where each item is, who has it, and its current status.
Management can still view everything across the company in the asset list or asset reports, without having to combine separate spreadsheets or ask each team for updates.

Congrats on the launch! ๐ The UI looks clean. Just curious..does AssetLoom also handle software licenses and renewals?
