Ascend - building an app that helps you get better everyday

Track your work sessions, build daily habits, set weekly and monthly goals, and log everything you learn — all in one focused app. A built-in daily reflection and monthly review keep you honest about your progress. The focus heatmap shows you exactly when you do your best work. And streak tracking makes consistency feel like a game you actually want to win. Built for the 9-to-5 side hustler who has two hours after work and can't afford to waste them.

I built Ascend because I was the problem it solves. I was working a full-time job and trying to build something on the side. Every evening I'd sit down with good intentions and end up scattered — switching between a habit app, a notes app, a timer, and a journal that I'd forget to open. Nothing talked to each other. Nothing showed me the full picture. The real frustration was that no app understood the side hustler context. They were built for teams, or for monks with unlimited free time, or they tracked one thing well and ignored everything else. Nobody was building for the person with two hours after work who needs to protect every minute and actually grow while doing it. So I built Ascend — a system that connects time tracking, habit building, goal setting, and continuous learning in one place. You log your work sessions, track what you're learning, reflect daily, and review monthly. Over time the data shows you exactly how your effort is compounding. The approach evolved a lot during the build. I started with just a timer and kept asking "what does a side hustler actually need to see every day to stay on track?" That question led to the streak system, the focus heatmap, the learning hub, and the monthly review ritual. It's built for the 9-to-5 side hustler who can't afford to waste the small windows they have. That person is me. I think it might be a lot of you too.
