Building a cybersecurity tool after experiencing the phishing problem firsthand

byβ€’

Hi Product Hunt community! πŸ‘‹

I'm an entrepreneur and developer, and I've been thinking a lot about a simple question: how can we make everyday internet browsing safer for everyone?

Phishing is a difficult problem because malicious links can look almost identical to legitimate ones. They arrive through text messages, emails, social media, and other everyday communication channels. Even tech-savvy users can make mistakes.

This problem became personal to me and motivated me to build AnarqOut. What started as a personal need gradually became a project I wanted to make accessible to more people.

While developing it, I've been exploring ways to intercept suspicious links during browsing, analyze URLs, and alert users before they open potentially dangerous websites.

I'm still learning, testing, and looking for ways to make this kind of protection more useful in real life.

I'd love to hear from other makers and security enthusiasts:

What do you think is the biggest gap in phishing protection today?

Is it detecting suspicious links, warning users at the right moment, reducing false alarms, or helping people understand why a link might be dangerous?

I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences and perspectives. Thanks! πŸ™Œ
