By my estimation it will be 1.5 years before its in the UK and only in London (typical Amazon UK launch) and a further 5 years before its fully UK wide.

This has been active in Seattle for a really long time. How it works: Amazon asks the restaurant to prepare the food then Amazon Prime will send a guy to pick your food from restaurant and then deliver your food to you. The best part in Seattle is that it offers delivery to lot of restaurant which don't generally have a delivery service. Also the delivery is free for now.

I don't see it available in Phoenix.

This is a Deliveroo competitor I think...?

Because restaurant delivery is such low margin service offering, a diversified biz like Amazon has a natural advantage over "delivery only" and "restaurant delivery only" companies, provided they can scale quickly and leverage the data that's gathered to grow other biz units. Definitely worth testing at a large scale IMHO.

just as easy to call the restaurant yourself---it's worked for years and you get the right order delivered
