We built AdArena because AI solved the wrong advertising problem.
AI made creating ads dramatically easier.
But after watching 1,300+ creators produce 900+ finished ads across 12 brand competitions,
I think something interesting is happening:
Production is no longer the biggest bottleneck.
Selection is.
A marketer can already generate dozens of ads with AI.
Soon they'll be able to generate hundreds.
But if I give a CMO 1,000 ads tomorrow, did I actually solve their problem?
Now they need to figure out:
Which idea is actually good?
Which creator understood the product?
Which hook deserves media spend?
Which concept is genuinely different rather than another variation?
That realization changed how I think about AdArena.
We didn't want to build another AI ad generator.
There are already great companies doing that.
We wanted to build the layer that comes before and after generation:
Competition.
One brand brief.
Many independent AI creators.
Different ideas.
Finished ads.
The strongest creative wins.
It creates a completely different creative process:
Traditional:
Choose creator → produce creative → hope it's good.
AdArena:
Open brief → creators compete → see the work → choose winners.
Five months ago we had around 150 creators and one competition.
Today:
• 1,300+ creators
• 12 brand competitions
• 900+ finished ads
• $100K+ in prize pools
• $50K+ already paid to creators
And creators have started building something that traditional portfolios don't really provide:
a competitive record.
Wins.
Finals.
Prize earnings.
Competition history.
Performance against other creators solving the exact same brief.
That's why we've started calling AdArena:
The AI Advertising League.
The thesis we're betting on is simple:
When production becomes abundant, great ideas and great taste become scarce.
Today is our Product Hunt launch, but I'm much more interested in the discussion than the launch itself:
If AI makes creative production almost unlimited, what becomes the most valuable layer in advertising next?
Generation?
Creative talent?
Selection?
Performance data?
Something else entirely?
Would genuinely love to hear how other builders and marketers see this.
