Why did we build 24ID Chat?
Almost every communication app today demands your personal phone number. The moment you give it out to a stranger, client, or online seller, your real-world identity, WhatsApp profile, and spam risks follow you forever.
We asked ourselves:
"Why can't messaging be as ephemeral and disposable as a temporary email?"
Existing tools either:
1. Require phone numbers (Signal/WhatsApp/Telegram),
2. Require complicated setup (SimpleX /Tor/PGP), or
3. Keep metadata stored indefinitely on centralized servers.
How 24ID Chat is different:
- ⚡ Zero Identity Required: No phone numbers, no emails, no usernames. You get an anonymous Chat Token and a private Login Token.
- 🔐 Real Client-Side E2EE: Your browser generates ECDH P-256 and AES-256-GCM keys locally in IndexedDB. We literally cannot read your messages even if we wanted to.
- ⏳ Built-in 24h Expiry: After 24 hours, the account and all associated messages are completely purged.
- 🎙️ Feature-Packed: Includes encrypted voice notes, file attachments, emoji reactions, invite links with secret security questions, and community rooms.
