Bricks, films, voicemails

gm legends

Today: a prompt that comes back as a brick set you can order the parts for, a film tracker for people who are done with Letterboxd, and an old voicemail turned into a hand-drawn film.

  • BrickForgerAITurn any prompt into a brick set you can actually build

BrickForgerAI turns a prompt into a brick model you can actually order the parts for and build. Aaryan Doshi found that the other AI LEGO generators mostly render a nice picture and stop there. The work all went into the placement engine, which turns the shape into a voxel grid, tiles it with real purchasable parts, staggers the seams so it doesn't come apart like a loose stack, and runs a connectivity and gravity check to find whatever would collapse and fix it before you see it.

  • SurveyMonkeyYour best decisions start with listening

SurveyMonkey now asks your customers questions in conversation, the way a person actually would, and hands the answers back already analysed. Nobody fills in a grid of radio buttons voluntarily. It benchmarks your numbers against companies in your space, so you find out whether your score is good or quietly terrible, and it plugs into ChatGPT and Slack so the feedback lands where you already argue about things, with no research team to hire and no fieldwork to wait on. • QueuebrickThe Letterboxd alternative

Queuebrick is a film tracker built as an alternative to Letterboxd, without the ads, and with television in it too. Zachary does design and engineering at IBM during the week and made this to keep track of his own watching. There's a catch-all import so you can bring across whatever list you already keep and wherever you keep it, which is the part that decides whether anyone switches, because ten years of logged films is the reason most people stay put with the thing annoying them.

  • RetoldTurn family voices into hand-drawn story films

Retold takes an old voice note and turns it into a short hand-drawn film, keeping the actual recording as the voice. Karl built it after his nan died, because he still had a voicemail she'd left for his sister and some clips of her trying to use Alexa. Those files were sitting in a phone folder where nobody was ever going to open them, so Retold puts the people and places from the recording on screen and files it on a family shelf, and it's in beta on iPhone with Android behind it.
