PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT
Humane finally reveals its AI-powered pin

Remember Humane AI? The company behind the AI-powered, wearable pin that debuted on Paris Fashion Week a few months ago? Back then, it drove a lot of curiosity across social media, with nobody really knowing what it does.

Well, now we know. Humane has officially launched it to the world. The pin is essentially an AI-powered replacement for your phone.

It magnetically attaches to your clothes and projects a hologram onto your hand that you can interact with. You can read and respond to text messages, make calls, send emails, take photos and even play music. To power all of this, the team built its own mobile OS called “Cosmos.”

In the launch video, the founders Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno showcase a number of these features, including a particularly on-the-nose moment where they ask it to play music from sci-fi films.

Unlike a lot of wearables that come out these days, the Humane Pin wants to be a stand-alone device, i.e. not connected to your smartphone. If anything, the company wants to upend the smartphone market, and it has some serious backing from the likes of Sam Altman and Microsoft.

If you want to be a pioneer of what could be the next great leap when it comes to mobile tech, prepare to shell out. The Humane AI pin will start at $699 with a $24 monthly subscription on top of that.

Will you make the switch?
