Now on to some news:Â
New things from OpenAI
OpenAI just hosted its first-ever developer conference, and it did not disappoint. New language models, an app store, and more. Here’s everything you might have missed:
Build your own ChatGPT: Yep, you read that right. One of the most exciting announcements was the launch of GPTs. GPTs are custom ChatGPT clients that can be built by users. You can combine different sets of information, instructions, and skills into a ChatGPT designed for any niche.
ChatGPT store: Everyone’s got an app store, and ChatGPT is no different. Alongside GPTs, OpenAI announced the launch of a new store where you can publish your GPTs. Users can then earn money through sales. It even comes with a leaderboard to surface the most popular GPTs.Â
GPT-4 Turbo: Unsurprisingly, GPT-4 got a major upgrade. Alongside a price reduction, GPT-4 now has knowledge of world events up to April 2023 and a 128k context window. That’s the equivalent of more than 300 pages of text in a single prompt.
Assistant’s API: Last but certainly not least, OpenAI announced a new API to allow developers to build AI assistants into their applications easily. You can check out a video of it in action here.Â
All in all a big day for OpenAI and AI as a whole. What will you build with the newest announcements?Â
