What were the things that you regret doing/not doing during your first job?

My first job was in the service industry, so it was far less dependent on my decisions and I was kind of just a cog. In my current position, I think it took me too long to figure out what my role was within the business, and our growth has been slow because of that. I did not speak about the work-life balance there. I had to answer the emails on my days off too.
