Launching a online jewelry store - how important is the website vs social media, considering we expect at first our main funnel would be through social media (not doing paid ads yet)?

Why not make one? It only takes a few hours and it's free (apart from the domain name, which you will want for your email address anyway). I would paste my guide here but it isn't letting me, I'll DM it to you.
Customers expect you to have a website - and it's another form of marketing.

@paul_richardson what do you think of our current website? Our landing page is pretty lacklustre compared to the rest of the site , we’d love feedback!

@lalit_lal Most of the site's colours are black and white. Jewlery should be full of colour and sparkle - including elegant colours like silver and gold.
You don't explain what makes a good diamond/ring, certificates, etc.
The heading 'Engagement rings, made for one.' needs to be clearer. I assumed that this meant that the rings are custom made, but I didn't know for sure until I read it in the FAQ. This should be a selling feature.
https://www.hiradiamonds.com/about - is it 100 or 150 years? I suggest including photographs over this time period to give evidence. You've used the same image multiple times. The text is too close in colour to the background, making it hard to read.
I don't like the HIRA circle at the bottom left of the page.
At the top 'Speak to a live expert: +1 (647) 424-4472' should give times they are available.
I recommend that you work with a good digital design agency to build a website digital marketing strategy. Find a good one - 95% of them out there are bad, so really research them and find one that is good for you.
It might be a significant step towards reaching more customers. A well-designed website can be a major asset. For instance, urban body jewelry customer service is greatly improved by their online presence, making it easier for customers to browse and purchase. A good website not only showcases your products but also establishes your brand in the digital marketplace.
A website is worth the investment, especially since for most it is an easy way to find all your products that are on sale, conveniently view photos and the like. Our small project https://ninaroende.dk/ began generating sales in the first month, although we did not advertise it
Creating an online jewelry store involves careful consideration of both the website and social media presence. The importance of each element depends on your specific business strategy and goals. In the scenario where your initial focus is on using social media as the primary funnel, there are several key factors to consider:
The Role of Social Media
Brand Awareness and Engagement: Social media platforms provide an excellent opportunity to build brand awareness and engage with your target audience. You can showcase your jewelry, share captivating visuals, tell your brand's story, and interact with potential customers directly.
Cost-Effective Marketing: In the early stages, when you're not investing in paid advertising, social media can be a cost-effective way to reach a broad audience. Creating compelling content, running giveaways, and leveraging user-generated content can help generate interest without a significant budget.
Community Building: Social media allows you to foster a community around your brand and products. You can create a loyal following of jewelry enthusiasts who eagerly anticipate your updates and releases.
Market Research: Through social media, you can gather valuable insights into your audience's preferences, trends, and feedback. This data can inform your product offerings and marketing strategies.
The Role of a Website
Credibility and Trust: A dedicated website lends credibility to your online jewelry store. It provides a central hub where customers can learn more about your brand, browse your full product range, and make purchases with confidence. If you want to make the jewelry website you can make such website that is a jewelry website.
E-Commerce Functionality: While social media can generate interest, a website is essential for facilitating actual sales. It offers a secure platform for customers to browse, select, and purchase jewelry items. You can also implement essential e-commerce features such as product categorization, shopping cart, and secure payment processing.
Customization and Branding: Your website allows for complete customization, ensuring that your brand identity is accurately represented. You can design the site to reflect your unique style and values, which can be challenging to achieve on social media platforms.
SEO and Organic Traffic: A well-optimized website can attract organic traffic from search engines like Google. This means that potential customers searching for jewelry online can find your store without relying solely on social media referrals.
Email Marketing: A website can integrate email marketing tools, enabling you to build and nurture a subscriber list. Email marketing is a powerful tool for promoting products, announcing sales, and re-engaging previous customers.
Finding the Right Balance
In the early stages of launching your online jewelry store, it's common to prioritize social media due to its accessibility and engagement potential. However, it's crucial to view your website and social media as complementary components of your overall digital strategy.
Here's how you can strike the right balance:
Social Media as a Funnel: Use social media to drive traffic to your website. Regularly post high-quality content, engage with your audience, and encourage followers to visit your site for more information and purchases.
Website Optimization: Ensure your website is user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and optimized for search engines. Make it easy for visitors to navigate, find products, and complete purchases.
Consistency: Maintain a consistent brand image across both your website and social media profiles. This consistency builds trust and reinforces your brand identity.
Analytics and Tracking: Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of both your website and social media efforts. Track conversion rates, website traffic, social media engagement, and sales data to refine your strategy.
Transition to Paid Advertising: As your online jewelry store grows, consider incorporating paid advertising campaigns, such as Facebook Ads or Google Ads, to further boost your online presence and sales.
While social media is a valuable tool for building awareness and engagement, a well-designed website remains essential for establishing trust, facilitating sales, and providing a centralized hub for your online jewelry store. Striking the right balance between the two channels and continually optimizing your approach can help you achieve long-term success in the competitive world of online jewelry retail.

The website is crucial for establishing brand credibility and showcasing your full product range, while social media is key for engagement and driving traffic to diamond store. Both are important, but initially focus on building a strong social media presence to attract customers.
I discovered an amazing website https://jewelrybro.com filled with jewelry store reviews, which was immensely helpful while searching for the perfect jeweler alongside my husband. It features genuine customer feedback and in-depth evaluations by experts, making it easier to weigh the options between different jewelers. What really stood out to me was the extensive comparison in terms of price, service quality, and total value. This site made the daunting task of finding a dependable jeweler a straightforward and informative adventure. It's certainly a must-visit for those looking to make an educated decision on jewelry purchases.
