Showcase it everywhere. Announce it on social media – ideally, give people motivation to subscribe (like some freebies) + add form to register on your website + remind yourself in posts (how you write your email, what have you achieved with your email list)... not spamming but has to be clear that this is also the activity you are in charge of. :-)

@curtischou I rather meant to mention your success with your newsletter on social media. For example, create a post how you grow your newsletter from 0 to (number) or let people know on social media that you had a very first customer from newsletter. That was my initial thought.

Get at least 5-10 pieces of content before you start pushing out there. Focus on content around your skillset to audiences that have less knowledge than you on it. So for you, it may be CS-related content targeted towards non-techies who want to build a product, so it could be no code, or learning the logic needed to code (this seems to be a massive unidentified issue, from reading forums - things just don't work). Another option would be to teach younger people, how to code/get onto a top CS programme. A joke that illustrates the point: A wife sends her programmer husband to the grocery store for a loaf of bread... On his way out she says "And if they have eggs, get a dozen". The programmer's husband returns home with 12 loaves of bread. Most non-coders expect 1 loaf of bread and 12 eggs. If it is for the Next big startup, then drop UCLA from your subheading, and focus on recent topics, and upcoming issues, (unless you only want UCLA students) cyber security and network stability could have both been issues this week; what happened to Meta and Linkedin? A recent Your articles seem on the short side, longer content can be a lot better for SEO, so switch the content types and stay consistent. https://www.ignorance.ai/archive Once you have a few more pieces of content then you should start pushing it everywhere you can. LinkedIn to Reddit or Indie Hackers etc.

@ty_robb Thanks for the feedback Tyrone! I appreciate the depth you went into! I was thinking of making my initial newsletter UCLA based and then branching out. Will be sure to keep the "1 loaf of bread and 12 eggs" in mind also! I like the advice about pushing more content as well, good reminder to know I just need to keep being consistent. Thanks again!

@atticusli don't have much but one advice that I got was that your first 100-200 subscribers have to be brute forced haha
