Not getting what the product is about, does that happen to you?

I have been exploring products in PH and so many times I found that even after seeing the videos/pics, reading maker's comments and visiting the website, I don't get what does it really do..there are big lines or marketing slogans but not a signal clear statement for the person looking it for the first time! Does that happen to you? How can that be avoided? I launched few products too and chances are visitors on my page felt the same!

Ask the customer if they understand your slogan. Ask your parents, your friends, ask random people on social media, if your product is "not understandable", they will tell you.

@jacquelinclem @rashjbp yes "mom" test is sooo important. The simpler the better.

Makers focus too much on the features they built and not on the benefits the user gets. Features: An oven that can reach 260 degrees Celsius, has 7 baking modes, and connects to your phone Benefit: A cake for your daughter's birthday

@dkaravias Well said, and what an example!!!I think I can directly relate to it with one of the product I see today or yesterday. I will use this as a filter to check my post, thanks :)

@rashjbp You're welcome. There's a ton of useful material here, highly recommended: https://marketingexamples.com/

@dkaravias @rashjbp Yes, we often time forget about the benefits and are so focused with the features :) indeed a very important one

Yes, this happens a lot! You can't avoid it. the founder needs to speak with their customers and clear it on their landing page.

@prateek_mathur We request for feedbacks on product, reviews on website, send them new feature mails, do you think customer would like to get disturb with another such requests? They are being most precious thing :) I hesitate to disturb them a lot, what do you say?
Prateek Mathur
@rashjbp Are you talking about getting feedback on a new feature? If so, you can build a customer advisory board of your Top 15 clients that help you validate new product features and build on new features.
Rashmi Gupta
@prateek_mathur No, not getting the feedback on new feature, that we do with selected customers. Its about launching page with a new product, related or unrelated to the existing one, if the msg is understandable, if the webpage is telling the story, if the maker's comments explaining what the product does clearly.
