How would you connect your remote workers?

We use Slack, Google Meet and also our Coffee-Breaks to stay in touch with our colleagues. On top we meet in person once in a while.

We work with MS Suite, so we use Teams, and we have a virtual watercooler chat chat there. People can start a topic and others can jump in to share.

@kateryna_ostapenko_ that's cool. Do you use an app or a bot for your virtual watercooler? How often topics get posted in there?

@marvin_maendle no just Teams chat. We created a basic set of rules as in post at least once a week a topic, and we did rotation as to who posts next, and you can of course post earlier, so we rarely got to the mandatory post

For communication - Telegram and Slack Videos - Loom Meetings - Google Meet

@byalexai Slack and google meet are the best combination I think. Loom is good though for explaining something, only used it for customers until now, not between colleagues.

Slack, but also Google Meets video chats. Not so often via WA. (We used to)

@busmark_w_nika Whatsapp feels too casual for me - it bleeds into my personal life too much!

@nik_hazell yeah, it is actually how you say (but in previous work like 4 years ago we used it a lot). But now, I use it fro chat groups.

I'd use planes. Kidding, I use Discord instead of Google Meet, because the quality of the meeting is way higher.

@maurizioisendoorn Nice. Never tried a call on Discord. Thanks for sharing :)

For day-to-day operations: Google Meet, regular virtual coffee breaks, Slack (highly recommend team huddles!). For after-hours (if that's what you want to do) we did some remote party games, movie screenings or gaming.

@olga_jakubowska1 Thanks for sharing! Wich coffee-break solution do you use?
Olga Jakubowska
@marvin_maendle Hi! Tbh we just use Meet for coffee breaks, what I meant was that they are scheduled in our calendars and are happening on a regular basis. In the past I remember experimenting with a virtual space platform, but I can't recall the name and we only used it once or twice, Meet turned out to be more convenient.

Dentist
To support remote workers effectively, a dentist could implement secure VPN access, utilize collaborative tools like Slack and Zoom, and establish clear communication protocols. This ensures seamless teamwork and efficient project management from diverse locations.
