For example, I managed to make good bucks by listing my product on AppSumo, but I didn't get into their promotion. However, for the last two years, my product makes $700-3500 in monthly sales.

AppSumo can be pretty good. If you are selling a subscription service, it can be hard to get initial users when you have no reviews, nothing to confirm your trustworthiness. Selling your product on AppSumo allows you to get some initial users and you can use that to get feedback, reviews and improve your product. Also gives you some nice cash. It's one of those things that are unscalable things that are very good for your growth in the early stages.
There is also an AppSumo Slack community where you can get feedback and some support.
