How to start a 0->5 members community?

It feels like the most critical step - to invite the first core members. And the scariest thing is if it's going to be another boring place for them. What would you recommend for the first step?

let it sound trite, but be positive and just take steps forward!))

Reach out to people you've worked with, in the past. Even if they are not your potential customers, they will help in spreading the word. Create content around your product which highlights the issues you are solving.

@sonimadhuri Actually I want private and cozy community. Question is how to engage first adopters?
Madhuri
@stas_voronov Make them feel heard? Discuss how they are using the app, frequency of usage, upcoming features(will also help you prioritise). Maybe at the end of month you can have a mail digest with product updates and give them a shoutout.

Here are some tips: - Invite people who know you - Figure out a goal for the community (why should it exist) - Ask early members to invite their friends - Leverage social media to spread awareness about your community

@stas_voronov lol, this is a different question. Anyway, there are many ways to engage depending on the stage of your community: 1. Great onboarding and welcome email 2. Regular events 3. Incentives and many more...

I usually reach out to people I know. Then, if they like the product, they can spread it to their network.

@siena_romes But questions how to engage them in the community?
Stas Voronov
@siena_romes Do you have any good examples for games?

What's your product? What kind of community is it, how are they engaging with each other if they are?

@richw We're doing a tool for Agile Teams to prevent deadline shifts and rework. Kind of Jira plugin for now, which send possible blockers to Slack I'm not sure how they are engaging, cause I've just started :)

Use TikTok. I made an experiment. I started posting 2x per day on TikTok for the last 3 weeks and I got a lot of meetings and feedback organically from the users. Now I created like a coaching programme for people from TikTok and it's super helpful for them, but for me too.

@valilus Sounds interesting. How hard it was to find your audience on TikTok?
Vali Lupoaie
@stas_voronov not so difficult because I do marketing for a living. But yes, identifying the niche is step 1 on TikTok too.
