Facebook Outage - Systems and Customer Data

So yesterday the world saw and outage of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp and a lot of the services that they are build with/on. I've already seen a few people post up about the effects that it had on their businesses: - not being able to provide customer support - not being able to contact customers - inability to communicate (internally & externally) - business process interrupted The list goes on, but it's worth spending some time for you all to think about how you'd operate if these systems aren't available and what backups are available to you in case.
