Do you choose to have a specific kind of setup, or do you just work however you like?

In my experience, having a specific kind of setup has been beneficial for my productivity and focus. I prefer to have a designated workspace where I can separate my work from other aspects of my life. I have a comfortable desk and chair, adequate lighting, and all the necessary tools and equipment within reach. Additionally, I like to keep my workspace organized and clutter-free, as it helps me maintain a clear mind and minimizes distractions. I have a system for organizing my files and materials, and I make sure to keep my digital workspace tidy as well. However, I understand that everyone has different preferences and work styles. Some people thrive in a more flexible environment and can work effectively from different locations or adapt to different setups. It's really important to find what works best for you and experiment with different approaches until you discover your ideal setup. What about you? Do you prefer having a specific kind of setup or do you work however you like? I'm interested to hear your thoughts and if you have any tips for creating an optimal work environment.

Absolutely, I'm all about the joy of having a dedicated setup! There's a certain magic in a spot that's just for work, where creativity and productivity come to play. My setup is a mix of comfort, light, and a dash of organized chaos. It's like my little sanctuary of productivity! But I'm also quite the chameleon - I can switch up my surroundings when the need arises. Variety is, after all, the spice of life!

I am a digital nomad, so I travel around a lot, especially in Asia where it's rare to find comfortable chairs or tables. So property setup is like a dream for me. If you do find something decent for your back, consider yourself lucky. Even with the best setup, your brain can still find distractions. That's why I usually set a timer when I work and dedicate that time solely to my work without any distractions. I also put my phone in another room to avoid interruptions.

@ezgiyeginaltay I hope not! How many hours do you usually spend on your devices?

@ezgiyeginaltay Yeah I feel ya. What takes the most of your time? ;D

@ezgiyeginaltay I'm doing daily stretches and exercises. I also use the special pillow and it helps so far.

I would love to be a digital nomad but to be honest, I really need my little comfort: my desk with my dual screen just next to the window (a room dedicated to work): Always the same set up. It helps me to focus on my work and bé super efficient.

I need to have an exact spot to get into "work" mode. Otherwise, it is really easy for me to get distracted

Two things that I’ve found most important: 1. Creating Spaces / Windows by project — so whether that’s having multiple monitors where you can see everything relevant to the one project you’re focused on, or using an app that helps with that. This makes sure I stay in flow on one thing and don’t get distracted by irrelevant info. 2. Time blocking. I set goals for the week and day, and make sure I block time on calendar for doing the relevant tasks. Nothing slips (usually heh) and I feel good knowing I’ve already made the time to work on all the things I’m balancing.
