Combustion vehicles make the Earth dying and it is hard to stop it

According to EPA (https://www.epa.gov/transportati...), greenhouse gas emissions from transportation account for about 29 percent of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. In my opinion, the problem is that electric vehicles are expensive, the market of used ones is incomparably smaller than that of those with combustion engines and actually there is no eco-friendly alternative for a private moving to them. Moreover, means of transport not only enable us to move but for many they are also a form of a demonstration of their status. That is why cycles and public transport are not that popular. And these are, in my opinion, the main reasons why it is hard to limit greenhouse gas emission, which comes from transportation.
