Alexa skill: we launched ... and they did not come

we could say ... as expected and mentioned by Alexa to developers. There seem to be very limited options inside the Alexa environment to improve discoverability and make your new skill stand out. I would love to hear the story and advice from people who successfully launched their skill recently on Alexa.
