There are lots of ways to make money. Most of them a far more effective and less risky than a startup.
If you dont care deeply about the product I would recommend doing something else.
If you do care deeply about your product:
- Don't compromise about the things you know are important. If you are not at least a little bit difficult to work with, you are probably not doing it right.
- Don't let your users design your product. Your users don't know what they want. Your users may want a feature but that does not mean you have to build it. You are the expert not them.
- Always listen to your users problems! They may not know what they want, but they do know what problems they have. If you dont solve at least some of your users problems then our product does not matter.
@andreas_toddle great response Andreas, listen and understand your users problems. Also make sure they are similar problems across your user base. Don’t assume just because 1 user has a problem that all your users do.

Every product serves one or more user values: Utilitarian, Emotional, Social, and Altruistic.
The more, the better, but the trick is those are personal, so what you may value, I might not.
