Are contact-less payments the email, to snail mail?

I do recognize that snail mail has it's time and place, even in a world of instant information/gratification.

That said, I can't help but think there is no reason to carry around my credit cards... If I can achieve the same goal of facilitating a transactional process, why would I want to carry/need a CC?

Agree 100% but the issue right now is not all places accept contactless payments yet and sometimes the machines do not work so you end up needing to insert your card so the line behind you doesn't get frustrated.

The other thing too is that Apple takes a cut of the transaction so some merchants may not rush to add the capability.
