Where do the majority of your daily 'tasks to work on' come from ?

We all do many tasks every day be it work or personal. At a high level the tasks are only 2 types
1. Tasks we want to work on
2. Tasks other people us to work on

Where do you get most of the tasks asked to be done by you from ?

I am building a tool to help us get more things done by aggregating all the tasks we need to do or are expected to do and then making time for each task.

Please help with your valuable inputs.
