Not everyone has the same communication style. Eventually you’ll come across a colleague that doesn’t get it because they don’t process information the same way that you do. Being able to envision yourself as the other individual or group and their response to your explanations or solutions can dramatically improve the collaboration effectiveness.

Be empathetic and thoughtful about postings whether it be a comment or a new thread. Because the majority of us are all makers, we come here to mostly get feedback and insight to elevate our product experience for our target users. Post things that either give value or inquire for a higher understanding of your product process, target user, and maker community.

They are usually random issues that I happen to come by when talking to people. You just sit there and go, “wouldn’t it be nice if….”

User research and validation. I like ideating new ideas as they come and being able to throw it against the wall for quick feedback. It’s also great to learn about the user’s perspective on a particular problem. You never know if you might find something new.

Lately I’ve been bouncing around Mastodon, Threads, TikTok, IG and Bluesky. Best connections I’ve had so far are on Mastodon.
