My longtime focus is media attention and engagement. I spend many hours pouring over audience data and observing media consumers directly. As Stanford research recently revealed, virtual meeting participants tune out in 8-10 minutes. We've known that observationally. They confirm it empirically. It's tragic that so much time is spent in meetings and instructor led training (ILT) with little getting accomplished. We're fixing that.

New funding opportunities for startups and where the interests of VCs go?

Two weeks ago, @byalexai discussed whether VCs are losing their appeal in the AI era. A few months ago, I personally noticed a lot of hate toward VCs and praise for bootstrapping on X.

It felt like VCs were being demonised: selective investors who take a big slice once a good opportunity appears, and then founders are expected to deliver top results while entrepreneurial freedom fades. That s how it was often framed.

Fair compensation for interns – what’s your take?

On June 14, 2023, the European Parliament officially voted to ban unpaid internships.

This honestly made me happy, because I remember how, during college, I was expected to spend a full 2 months working full-time at an advertising agency as an unpaid intern (Spoiler alert: I fought for and got some pay ), but that wasn t the norm.
