TikTok ban in the US is coming – what implications does it have for your business?

This US ban was supposed to be on Jan 19 2025  but it lasted only 24 hours then people could use it again because Trump's administration gave the ByteDance company some time to find any other solution.

ByteDance has until April 5th to decide whether to sell TikTok to a US entity or leave the US.

Pivoting our SaaS: Stick with Business Owners or chase Marketing Agencies?

My two co-founders and I have been building WebGremlin, our first SaaS, for 1-2 months now. It s a website analysis tool. After we did the customer dev, we targeted three groups: business owners, marketers, and marketing agencies. We validated business owners with an MVP and made a few sales, so we started working on version 1.

We are having a soft launch now and it showed lower than expected conversion from business owners. However a few marketing agencies reached out, asking for an agency plan and are ready to pay, even without the features they want, basically saying "shut up and take my money".

Now we re stuck. Agencies seem like the hotter market, but pivoting means redoing our homepage, marketing, and adding features, more dev work when I d rather focus on marketing. Also we haven't done our official launch so it's still early to say if we should pivot or not.
Do we stick with business owners or pivot to agencies?
What s the smart move here?

Hey Product Hunt community!

We gearing up for the launch of WebGremlin.ai and of course, planning to submit to PH. But I m curious, where else do you share your products to get traction? What are other platforms, forums, or communities that have worked well for you (like hackernews)? And while we re at it, what s your go-to initial launch strategy to make some noise?

Thanks in advance!

Calls to Action Do we feel compelled to click, or just leave?

Are AI comments a (good) future for social media?

Today I read this message:
Instagram has just added the ability to write comments with AI.

A similar option LinkedIn has (it offers pre-written recommended comments like "Congratulations")

Is SaaS dead? What’s next when AI takes over?

I m starting to think most SaaS products are on borrowed time. With AI getting smarter every day, it s poised to swallow up their use cases. AI will learn to do what SaaS tools do and at some point it will be easier for the user just to use the AI. I recently saw a tweet claiming that by next year, 90% of code will be AI-generated. If development costs are plummeting to zero, why would anyone pay for a traditional SaaS subscription, when his favourite AI can do the same?

Do you see it the same way? I d love to hear your take.

Do you think software will lose its value as a product to build?

Building software is literally getting easier and easier. What I ve noticed is that just a few years ago, you really needed knowledge, a team, and solid know-how to make the whole process work.

But now, with all these tools popping up on the market almost daily like Cursor, Bolt, Lovable, and so many others it s incredibly easy to build software.

Which of the Product Hunt metrics matter to you the most?

I ve noticed that the purpose of people on Product Hunt is always different. Of course, the vast majority want to become the Product of the Day, Week, Month, or Year (or win Kitty Awards).

However, some are there for the community and their success metrics may lie in something else (e.g. the number of discussions created and rated).

What its like being a new founder/owner

Hi guys, I am a new founder of an AI agency, Think Bridging AI.

My journey started last year in July when I suddenly had to drop out of 3rd year Mechanical engineering. Honestly, I always wanted to start my own thing and so I was quite excited to finally try it out. Unfortunately, the reality hit, when all those, 'get rich fast', 'get leads fast', and 'get your first customer in 7 days' Youtube channels burst my bubble.

It's not that easy. I still have a client or 2 in the pipeline which took 6 months to get, 100s of emails sent, and stress levels through the roof.

Instagram's Edits vs. TikTok's CapCut?

The short video format originated primarily on TikTok as "TikToks." Of course, it was then picked up by Instagram ("Reels"), YouTube ("Shorts"), and later other platforms began to embrace this trend of short, vertical videos (LinkedIn, X).

For these purposes, TikTok created a mobile video editing app and later a desktop version, CapCut. (2019)
And guess what...

I'm Mario, co-founder of Upstream.so, on an indie journey building Glint.so

Hey Product Hunt makers and hunters! I'm Mario, a seasoned developer with 20+ years of experience, father of two, and co-founder of Upstream.so - a very successful startup that's become the leading platform for 24/7 YouTube live streaming with exponential growth over the past two years.

While scaling Upstream, I've been working on my second startup called Glint - "The Digital Hangout For Getting Things Done." It transforms how teams collaborate by combining video calls, screen sharing, collaborative whiteboards, and co-browsing in persistent spaces that remain after meetings end.

Gearing up to launching and building YourTale.art in public

Hi! I am currently building my startup as quickly as I can and am trying to buildinpublic, but currently not fully in the public mode. I have started showing my site to friends and family to gather feedback but have had minimal engagement online so far.
If anyone is interrested in writing your own tales, and actually get them as fully illustrated physical books, I would love to get some pre-launch feedback. My current plan is to flesh out the landing page with more preview tales, and filming a demo video, then launching here on ProductHunt, LinkedIn and my own social media very soon. What other forums should I launch via? Any and all tips for a first time builder and launcher would be super appreciated!
Really looking forward to starting this journey! Have quit my job and will be fully working on this in 2-months time so its a super scary and exciting time( currently also working full-time on this in my head and brain, but only code on the evenings and weekends;)
