Ai content is why nobody trusts founders anymore

Strong claim, hear me out.

Every founder update reads the same now. "excited to share," emoji bullets, fake vulnerability about the rollercoaster. doesn't matter if it's real or not, it all sounds identical.

Noticed this hard while hiring. read every dm myself for a growth role. most were obviously ai-generated, same tone, zero thought put in. the ones that stood out were rough, specific, clearly written by someone who actually looked at the problem first.

Think the same thing's eating founder credibility. people used to trust a post because it sounded like someone actually figured something out.

space ocr update #4 — the layer I said I would not build

In my first update post I turned down a suggestion. Someone with nineteen years in banking software asked for control totals, checking that the numbers on a document add up, and I said no. Getting there meant giving fields types, then converting formats, then summing, then comparing, and I thought all four of those belonged to a layer above this one. I have now built the first two, and I want to explain what moved.

What moved was not the argument. It was hearing the same thing from people who had never read that thread.

The main performance metric we've settled on is average success latency:

How quickly does a provider return a successful response?
