Easy to imagine a 3d-printed bridge that allows you to turn any pair of shoes into skates. Cool idea.

There's been a ton of underwhelming products in this space and as someone who worked in consumer finance I'm generally not that big of a fan of most PFMs. Lemon's the first one that's really impressed me and I'm excited to see how the develops it further.

This is the concept I often use to illustrate short-sighted thinking about the wisdom of crowds. This particular implementation seems to be a harassment magnet that unfairly burdens the targeted to address any problems. Throw in the inability to opt out and the ability to send unsolicited texts to targets, well, yikes. Calling this a positivity app shows such short sightedness I'm speechless....

Very excited by this complete redesign and rebrand and all the hard work and incredible thinking this represents. There's a lot here and no better place to start than Kim's very thoughtful Medium piece. Thrilled to share this with the Product Hunt community.

Maybe it's me, but I'm not sure how the physics work here to get any significant amount of energy from most RF signals. Would love to be corrected.

Maybe I'm missing something, but most beacons have a fairly short range and can easily be impacted by walls, people, etc. Using beacons for final landing places may make sense - but as general navigation it won't work in most environments. GPS works just fine, no?

As with Plastc and Coin, without a network brand (Visa/MC/AmEx/Discover), merchants can refuse to accept this. Outside of SoMa, I suspect that most merchants will see this and be skeptical of swiping it.

Pretty sure that their use of the Visa logo in the mockup is against the network rules. Production versions of this (and Coin) would not have a network logo, which will likely increase merchant confusion. Indeed, merchants would have every right to refuse to take this (and Coin) without the network logo. Furthermore, it's unclear from the page how thick the card is and whether or not it would...

As a former regulator and co-founder of a mobile payments startup, this one's a headscratcher. Is this a less profitable version of HigherOne? Is it Simple for a smaller market and four years too late? Do they think there'll be enough prepaid interchange to pay for rising customer acquisition costs, loyalty programs, and infrastructure?
