I can't speak for them but we're focused on working at all places both now and and in the future. Our technology evolves as the payments industry evolves. Chip cards that have a magnetic stripe can be swiped into the app. We went the membership route so we can supply our members with the latest upgrades and best technology in the ever changing payment world. Additionally, we are building a tokenized connected card platform that uses one time use stripe data (and contactless EMV/NFC) to secure payment in the future. Hi Henry, good job on building this product, it looks really awesome! I was about to purchase one last night and remembered that in October 2015, retailers will not be able to accept swiped transactions. Is Stratos EMV compatible? If not, what is your plan there? Thanks.

@florentferere Not true. VISA and Mastercard will no longer offer fraud protection for retailers that accept swiped transactions. 100% roll out of chipped CCs will take 2-3 years if not longer.

As with Plastc and Coin, without a network brand (Visa/MC/AmEx/Discover), merchants can refuse to accept this. Outside of SoMa, I suspect that most merchants will see this and be skeptical of swiping it.
