Should you soft launch on Product Hunt or go all-in on your first try?

I'm planning my Product Hunt launch and getting conflicting advice. Some people say to do a soft launch first to test the waters, get initial feedback, and learn the platform. Others say you only get one shot at the spotlight, so you should wait until everything is perfect and go all-in.

The soft launch camp argues you can iterate based on feedback and launch again later with a better strategy. The all-in camp says featured products get 90% of the attention, and if you don't get featured on your main launch, you've basically wasted your shot.

What platform do you use to show KPI data?

Hi all, I've just developed a voice application for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and I would like to track user data from it. This is a trivia game so I would like to know how many matches user has made daily, how many questions have been answered and so on. What online service do you use? I would like to find a service that allows me to send data via API or via an exposed JSON and then I can configure the service's dashboard displaying data. A friend suggested me to combine Elasticsearch with Grafana. What do you use?

How do you assure that relevant data is seen by your team?

How do you or your team become aware of important business metrics? Do you send out daily/weekly/monthly spreadsheets to all relevant stakeholders? Do you show your team/company data on a wallboard? And what kind of tools are you using?

Product already exists - How do you deal with it?

Any software that you develop the first question that comes in mind is - that product already exists. So why should a developer work on a new CRM or eCommerce software?

Callbird - Instant meetings mean no more missed opportunities

Callbird adds instant meetings to Calendly. Callbird allows prospects to meet instantly with salespeople via a link, or straight on the company's website. This leads to shorter sales cycles, less no shows, and eliminates missed opportunities.

Was finding job in a start-up overwhelming/painful for you as well?

Last month I decided to switch jobs & join a start up. I received a few offers & currently at different stages with some. The whole process was very overwhelming for me & I wanted to see if I can do something else to make my life easier. A typical workflow looked like this for me: - Discover start-ups I am interested in on angel.co, workatstartup.com, triplebyte.com. (Filters help but not enough to narrow the search. Hence it takes a lot of time) - Start conversation with the startups I am interested in & book intro calls. (Startups, particularly at workatstartup.com were very unresponsive. Some startups simply stopped responding in the middle of the process) - Intro calls with the hiring contact. (Each call lasts about 30-45 mins & it becomes very time consuming to talk to multiple start ups) - Call with founders. (Very similar to Intro call. But, coming from the founder) - Assignments. Most start ups involve first step as take away home assignment. The typical duration of each assignment is between 2 - 4 hrs. (This is the most time consuming step) - 2 more technical rounds (each lasts 60 mins) - offer discussion (lasts around 30 mins) - 1-on-1 with team members. Completing the full process with a startup typically took me 8 hrs. Doing this with a full time job was very overwhelming. And I am pretty sure if it would have been overwhelming for the start up as well since they are doing this in parallel with multiple candidates.

What did you misunderstand about launching your product?

If you launched a product on Product Hunt (as one channel as part of your go-to-market channel strategy), what did you misunderstand about the process? What would you have done differently?
